The Hotels in Turkey are graded on a scale of one to five stars, along with a lower tier of unstarred properties rated by the different municipalities. Areas that are frequented by independent travellers have pansiyons and hotels that allow camping. The most popular campsites are those run by the Ministry of Forestry. Twenty of them are located amongst shady groves at strategic locations across western Turkey.
