On our preferred travel route, which begins in the north and ends in the south of this incredibly long and narrow nation, you may experience the highlights of Chile. Discover Santiago's streets, the dry Atacama Desert, and the Lakes District near Puerto Varas for hiking, biking, rafting, and other activities. Hiking in the dazzling Torres del Paine National Park, which is one of the world's top hiking & trekking locations, is a great way to cap off your trip to Chile. To complete your experience of Chile, add a visit to Easter Island. To tailor this trip to your unique interests, timetables, and budget restrictions, get in touch with one of our Chile travel package specialists.
After landing at Santiago airport and clearing customs, you are met by your local representative and driven to your hotel for a private transfer. You have time to relax after checking into your cozy hotel before being picked up for a City Walking Tour.
The tour begins with you and your guide traveling downtown via Santiago's subway to explore the famous landmarks including the central fish market and ‘Plaza de Armas’, Santiago’s main square and kilometer zero (the point from which all distances in the country are measured). You visit the ‘Alameda’, the main street of the city center, via the busy pedestrian walkway ‘Paseo Ahumada’, famous for its crowds, shops, and diversity of people. After visiting Chile's presidential palace ‘La Moneda’, a symbol of Chile’s political past and its famously turbulent history, climb Cerro Santa Lucía, where Santiago was founded in 1541 by Pedro Valdivia. The tour finishes by visiting the bohemian Lastarria neighborhood, lined with cafés, restaurants, small theaters, bookstores, and boutique shops.

They will pick you up at 9:00 AM to start the journey to the beautiful Casablanca Valley, not far from Santiago. The meandering, tree-lined country roads of the enchanting Casablanca Valley are the backdrop for this easy, relaxing bike tour through one of Chile's premier wine-growing regions. We'll bike leisurely along tree-lined roads through some of central Chile's finest vineyards, stopping to learn about the fascinating history of wine in Chile and why the soil and climate here is perfect for production, sample some of the area's superb white wines and enjoy a delicious picnic lunch underneath the swaying eucalyptus trees.
Hotel,1 Breakfast
This morning check out of the hotel for a private transfer to the airport. After a short scenic flight, arrive in Calama and be driven to San Pedro de Atacama, in the middle of the desert. The afternoon is at your leisure to relax or explore San Pedro on your own.
Today you drive to the great Salar de Atacama, a white endless salt flat with flamingos nesting in the lagoons. Geological research studies suggest this great salt flat is the most important lithium reserve in the world.
Visit a nearby village with ancient architecture and inviting locals who produce fine wool knit products. In the afternoon visit the Altiplano lagoons: Miscanit and Meñique, located at 4,500m above sea level. Unique flora and fauna can be seen and the area is also home to many legends about the Atacama Desert. End by visiting the town of Socaire, where old Andean traditions still exist today.
The very early wake-up call from the hotel is well worth it when you arrive at the amazing Tatio Geysers and see them in action. From almost 900 meters below the earth, boiling steam bursts up to 40 meters over the surface of these spectacular geysers. A scrumptious breakfast is served upon arrival before you walk through the geothermal fields with the geysers erupting nearby. As you drive back, there is a magnificent view of the Tocopurri and Sairecabur volcanoes. Arrive back in town in time to have lunch and the afternoon is free to rest after the early start, high altitude, and low temperature you faced in the morning.
Today visit the giant sand dunes and polychromatic rock formations of the Valley of the Moon. Located 13km/8 miles west of San Pedro in the Salt Mountain Range, the valley has beautifully strange lunar landscapes and is considered one of the driest places on the planet. Explore Valle de la Luna in time to witness a spectacular sunset, and feel the immensity of the desert stretching out all around you.
Travel from one extreme to another as you head from the dusty Atacama desert to Chile's luscious Lake District, lined with vast lakes and active volcanoes. After checking out from the hotel head to the Calama airport and board a flight to Puerto Montt, connecting in Santiago. Upon arrival in Puerto Montt, continue on to nearby Puerto Varas, a beautiful town with a marked German architectural style located on the shore of Lake Llanquihue, where you stay overnight.

This morning it's time for a white water rafting adventure! We'll head to the Petrohue sector, in Perez Rosales National Park, located at the foot of Osorno Volcano next to the flowing turquoise waters of the Petrohue River. Once we arrive we'll meet our skilled guides who will equip us with the rafting gear needed (wet suit, helmet, paddle jacket and life jacket) and then talk us through safety instructions. We board the rafts and start paddling down this beautiful class III river, enjoying the rapids and the views. After finishing our adventure, we'll have a tasty snack on the river banks and then return to Puerto Varas to spend the afternoon.
Hotel, 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch
With Volcano Osorno as our backdrop, today we'll trek close to Chile's famous Todos Los Santos Lake. On the way, we'll stop to admire the region's rivers and waterfalls at Ensenada and Saltos de Petrohué, before starting your three-hour ascent. At the top, the prize is clear: one of the most exquisite views of the Andes mountain range, with three volcanos and the expansive blue of Todos Los Santos Lake, sprawled at your feet. What a treat!

Today you'll check out of your hotel and board a flight to Punta Arenas in the South of Chile. You are picked up from Punta Arenas airport in the morning and driven to EcoCamp Patagonia, located in the world-famous Torres del Paine National Park.
En route make a stop in Puerto Natales, a small, lively town on the shores of Seno de Ultima Esperanza, where you can enjoy a hearty local lunch. The journey is very scenic, with plenty of wild birds and wonderful landscapes to be seen. The day ends with your arrival and overnight stay at EcoCamp Patagonia, nestled in the heart of the park with a view of the Torres. During summer the sun sets around 11pm, so upon arrival there's plenty of light to admire the Patagonian steppe with its guanacos and snow-peaked mountain horizon.
For the next two days you have the choice between active or easy excursions. EcoCamp Patagonia provides you with a chart of excursions offered each day of the week. The excursions vary depending on weather and the season.

A small, intimate camp with just ten large, comfortable safari cabins offering high standards of accommodation and service, Oliver’s Camp is located in the quiet, animal-rich eastern sector of Tarangire National Park. The camp is uniquely licensed to offer walking tours and night game drives (both at additional cost) within the national park for the opportunity of incredible encounters with elephants and other big game as well as the smaller creatures.
The spacious guest tents are furnished in a traditional African style and raised on wooden platforms sheltered under thatch roofs. There are mosquito nets and spray, a radio (to contact reception), a torch, digital safe, solar powered lights and a large canvas wardrobe. Each tent has a private deck with sun loungers and a private bathroom. There is also a special honeymoon and family cabin available. There are no power sockets in the tents: batteries can be charged in the main tent.
Inside the main communal tent is a communal dining table and comfortable lounge area. Meals are delicious and mainly a mix of African and continental dishes.
The lodge also provides a complimentary laundry service and local drinks.
Restaurant, lounge, private bathrooms, solar-powered lighting, digital safe, mosquito net and spray.
The park is famous for its large numbers of elephant, particularly in the dry season. Buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, greater kudu and eland can also be easily seen here. There is a small population of tree-climbing lion and African wild dog. Leopards are widespread throughout the park. The very rare fringe-eared oryx can be seen on occasion. African rock python is often found resting in acacia trees close to wetlands near Silale: other reptiles include puff adders, Speke’s hinged and pancake tortoises. Birdlife is also impressive and includes secretary bird, martial and crested eagles and the endemic yellow-collared lovebird.
Game drives and walking safaris, plus optional night drives (at an additional cost)
Perched on the rim and affording spectacular views of the world famous Ngorongoro crater floor below, the ivy-clad Ngorongoro Serena Lodge offers good rooms, friendly service, well run facilities and delicious food.
Ngorongoro Serena Lodge is actually built into the rim of the crater itself, with the foliage-covered native stone of the lodge blending into the surrounding hillside. The views of the crater will certainly take your breath away: the 75 rooms, bar and restaurant all overlook the picturesque valley below. The rooms have attractive wooden floors and are decorated with ancient cave art. Each features modern en suite bathrooms, patios and heating as the temperatures can significantly drop here at night.
The main building contains a large restaurant, bar, gift shop, TV area and an attractive outside decking area, perfect for relaxing while admiring the view. There are buffets for breakfast and lunch but an a la carte menu is available for dinner.
Beside the exciting safaris within the crater, there are numerous walks and activities one can do from the lodge including visits to local tribal villages.
Within Ngorongoro crater is a diverse ecosystem representing nearly every habitat found in East Africa. Open grasslands are inhabited by wildebeest, zebra, lion, cheetah and black rhino; acacia woodland provides cover for leopards; swamps supply the food for elephants and buffalos; freshwater pools harbour hippos; and a small soda lake is a feeding ground for flocks of flamingos. In addition there are small outcrops of rocks which give shade for lions and even an highly arid area of shifting sand dunes.
Restaurant, bar, lounge, TV room, gift shop, heating and private bathrooms.
Large game is abundant and includes elephant, black rhino, buffalo, zebra, gazelle, impala, eland, waterbuck, lion, leopard, cheetah and spotted hyena. Smaller species often seen in the crater include serval, black-backed jackal, bat-eared fox, dwarf and slender mongooses and olive baboons. The crater is regarded as one of the best places in all Africa to see the highly endangered black rhinoceros.
Game drives within the crater and guided walks along the rim. Cultural activities are also available including visits to local tribal villages.
Embodying all that is great in East Africa bush camping, Serengeti Safari Camp is a gem of a lodge. Six beautifully equipped safari tents provide accommodation for just 12 guests creating an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. Candlelit bush dinners, good standards of service and some of the best guides in Africa all go to complete the safari experience. The lodge switches its location throughout the year putting it in the very best position for the migration. For this reason the camp is one of the best options for those hoping to view some of the most spectacular events of the migration such as river crossings.
The camp itself is actually quite simple but the quality of food and service is first class. There are two communal tents, one is a comfortable lounge and the second is the dining tent where delicious and well-presented dinners are taken. Breakfast and lunch are usually taken out in the field. There are six private and spacious guest tents, each with a table and chairs and large double bed. Behind the beds is a changing area, sink, towel rack and bucket shower with hot water available on request. Storm lanterns powered by solar power provide lighting and there is a torch and alarm for emergency attention.
The locations of the camp around the park have to be agreed well in advance with the park authorities – thus the unpredictable route of the migration means that sometimes a drive is necessary to reach the best spots for wildlife observation.
Dining room, lounge, private bucket shower (hot water available on request), solar powered lighting and laundry service.
Serengeti Safari Camp aims to position itself in the best locations to witness the wildebeest migration during its peak times. The plains of the Serengeti also support an exceptional diversity of other large game throughout the year with elephant, hippo, black rhino, giraffe, buffalo, eland, Thompson’s and grant’s gazelles, Burchell’s zebra, lion, leopard, cheetah, spotted hyena and many more frequently seen.
Game drives directly from the camp.
With a stunning position on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Indian Ocean and one of the best beaches on the island of Zanzibar, Matemwe Lodge provides exceptionally stylish accommodation and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.
Each of the twelve large, detached bungalows is exquisitely furnished with local fabrics, wooden floors, king-size beds and handmade furniture. Each has private facilities and a large balcony overlooking the sea with hammocks and wooden chairs. Other room facilities include free Wi-Fi, ceiling fans, tea and coffee facilities, and room and laundry service.
Service is relaxed but efficient and the restaurant serves excellent fresh seafood dishes. There are two swimming pools, a small bar built around an old dhow and well maintained gardens which attract bush babies and many birds. There is also a full service spa on site as well as an array of optional activities. Swimming is good off the lodge’s beach at high tide.
Restaurant, bar, lounge, swimming pool, private bathroom, laundry service, free Wi-Fi, spa, gift shop and room service.
Zanzibar bush babies visit the gardens after dark and a wide variety of birds and colourful butterflies can be seen during the day. Mnembe Atoll offers outstanding snorkelling and diving with a plethora of hard and soft corals, numerous reef fish, eels, reef sharks and green and hawksbill turtles.
Excursions to Mnembe Atoll. Cultural activities including visits to local villages, historic Stone Town, the Jozani forest and prison island.
